SUPPORT

How can we help?

Answers to the most common questions about PinTap accounts, pins, and events — and a direct line to the team when you need a human.

Talk to a human

Email us anytime — include the email on your PinTap account and, for pin issues, a photo of the pin. We aim to reply within one business day.

Accounts & sign-in

How do I create a PinTap account?

Download the PinTap app and sign in with your email address or a supported sign-in provider. Your account keeps your collection, achievements, and rewards in sync across devices.

I can't sign in — what should I do?

First make sure you're using the same email or sign-in provider you originally signed up with. If you signed up with Apple or Google, use that same button rather than typing your email. Still stuck? Email us and we'll get you back in.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account any time in the app: Me → Settings → Account → Delete Account. See our Account Deletion page for exactly what gets removed and how to request deletion if you can't access the app.

NFC pins & scanning

How do I tap a pin?

Hold the top of your phone flat against the back of the pin for a second or two. On iPhone, the NFC reader is at the top edge of the device; on Android it's usually the middle of the back. No separate reader app is needed — your phone will surface a PinTap link automatically.

My pin won't scan. What can I try?

Remove thick cases, make sure NFC is enabled (Android: Settings → Connected devices → NFC), move the phone slowly around the pin's back surface, and give it a full second of contact. Metal surfaces behind the pin can interfere — try holding it in the air. If a specific pin never scans, contact us with a photo and we'll replace or manually register it.

Which phones work with PinTap?

PinTap works on iPhones running iOS 18 or later and NFC-capable Android phones running Android 8.0 or later. On iPhone you can even claim a pin before installing the full app via an App Clip.

What happens when I claim a pin?

Claiming links that physical pin's unique digital identity to your account. Your collection updates instantly, and any experiences, achievements, or rewards attached to that pin unlock for you.

Events & check-ins

How do event check-ins work?

At participating events you'll find PinTap readers or posted tap points. Tap them with your phone just like a pin — each check-in records your participation and can unlock achievements, exclusive content, or entries in event promotions.

I tapped a reader at an event but didn't get credit.

Make sure you were signed in to the app when you tapped, then pull to refresh your collection. If the achievement still doesn't appear, email us with the event name, the approximate time you tapped, and the reader location — we can verify and grant it manually.

Do check-ins track my location?

No. PinTap does not collect GPS or background location. A check-in only records that your account tapped a specific reader — nothing more.

Purchases & promotions

How do purchases work?

All in-app purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. PinTap never sees or stores your card details. For refunds, use the App Store or Google Play refund process for your platform.

Where are the Year of the Devil giveaway rules?
